Theodore May is the creator of Stage Presence for Executives, Hacking Presentation Technique , Presentation Panic, and Hacking the Job Interview.

 

 

Executive:  Ted draws on nearly 30 years of experience as an executive with the CBS Television Network, Drexel Burnham Lambert, Cablevision Systems Corporation, America Online, and Synacor, Inc. where he was Senior Vice President of Strategy & Business Affairs. Ted has an MBA from New York University.

Performance:  Prior to his career as an executive, Ted performed featured roles on stage and television in New York City and across the country as a member of Actor's Equity and SAG/AFTRA. Producing organizations include the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Manhattan Theatre Club, Lincoln Center, ABC, NBC, and others. He has a BFA from The Juilliard School.

The combination of a career spent in business strategy and development -- including negotiating multi-million $$ agreements and managing strategic partnerships with major media and technology companies coupled with professional stage and screen performance experience -- gives Ted a unique perspective and insight into the dynamics of live presentation.

 

In both domains and throughout his career, Ted has been an active and respected mentor and coach for junior staff, and a valued adviser to colleagues and C-level executives. Ted’s innovative approach to developing basic presentation skills and technique has been well received by university business schools as well as tech & media companies. He is currently a Board Member on the Executive Committee of the Mosaic Theater Company of D.C.

Consulting & Seminars

Ted has provided workshops and seminars to a variety of companies including OPSWAT, PBS Television Network, The Library of Congress TPS NVA, National Industries for the Blind BMT Program, and EcoAgriculture Partners International, etc.  He is an Affiliated Faculty member at George Mason University's graduate business school (MS Technology Management,  MBA and other MS programs.

Lecturing and Coaching

Ted has been a guest lecturer at Towson University, University of Mary Washington, Radford University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and White Mountains Community College and provided individual coaching to professionals in a variety of industries including business, medicine and architecture.

He is currently offering the innovative Stage Presence for Executives series of workshops at the Studio Acting Conservatory.
